SUBJECT: PERCEPTION OF PARENTS OF STUDENTS ON SCHOOL-FAMILY RELATIONSHIP IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS OF THE PROVINCIAL SUB-DIVISION OF MAHAGI 2 OF EPST/ITURI 3
Abstract
This work aimed to assess parent’s perceptions of the school-family relationship, identify favorable and unfavorable attitudes to collaboration between school and family and propose strategies for improving the school-family relationship in secondary schools of the Mahagi 2 provincial sub-division of EPST ITURI3.
To do this, an interview was conducted with a homogenization sample of 75 parents of secondary schools in the provincial sub-division of Mahagi 2.
The results show that parents of secondary school students in the provincial sub-division of Mahagi 2 of EPST ITURI3 have a negative perception of the school-family relationship due to poor collaboration. These subjects listed the favorable and unfavorable attitudes to school-family collaboration in the secondary schools of the provincial sub-division of Mahagi 2 of the EPST ITURI3. Strategies to improve the school-family relationship were proposed.
